Pudding is the word we used for the sweet ending to every dinner - dinner being the night meal. Possibly anglo-indian terminology, as every other english-speaking race calls this meal by a different name. But in my book, its still dinner, and its still pudding - none of this dessert and sweetmeats tomfoolery!! Anything sweet after dinner is a pudding, we are as likely to have rusgullas for pudding, as angel pudding or icecream, or blancmange or kesri baath..
